And the oscar goes to...

Congratulations to Y3C on winning the Best Film award at the London Youth Film Awards in the Stratford Picturehouse cinema last week.

As winners of the JB School Film competition last year, Y3C were selected to represent John Bramston at the awards in Stratford.  The event brought four schools together to promote film and drama and to allow the children to collaborate with peers from the boroughs of Redbridge, Newham and Hackney.

After watching all the entries, each school received an individual award reflecting the different styles and effort put into their films.  However, a special award was reserved for the school children in the audience to decide on.  Each child was asked to consider the films they had watched and vote for their favourite, but they could not vote for their own entry.

Once the votes had been tallied, the winner was announced.  John Bramston were the lucky recipients of Best Film with their film ‘Captain Shake and the Exercise Avengers’, a short film made to promote the benefits of exercise to learning at school.

It was a great morning and we hope the students at JB can send more films to share next year.

Mr. Cusack.
