Congratulations to all of the children from Year 5 and Year 6 who competed yesterday in a Redbridge schools event at Eton Manor Rugby Club in Wanstead.
The children, many new to cross country running, gave it 100% as they completed the 1500 metre course. Seven schools from the borough sent teams of 6 girls and 6 boys to the race meet.
There were individual prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd with trophies for overall best team performances for the girls' and boys' teams.
Though we narrowly missed out on the trophies, we are proud to recognise the achievements of all our competitors, with a special mention to Mia and Ryan who finished in first place in their respective races.
A huge well done to every member of each team for their perseverance on what was a very hot afternoon.
