Redbridge Maths Challenge

Last Friday 2 children from year 4 and year 5 took part in the Redbridge Maths Challenge at Ray Lodge Primary School.
The children had a day filled with fun maths challenges. They took part in the Fun Maths Roadshow where the children needed to systematically solve maths problems.

The second activity was to build a bridge, the catch was the children had to buy all of the resources on a tight budget. They had £5 to spend. They needed to build a bridge that would hold as much weight as possible and stay within the £5 budget.

The finished product!!

The testing begins......

It was very tense!!

It held 8kg!!! Wow!!!

We won!!!! Our bridge held 8kg more than the other schools!!!! :) Well done!!

We all had a great day :)
