6 Wins on the Spin!!

Friday 2nd March – Year 6 - William Torbitt Primary School 1 – 11 John Bramston Primary School

Well done to our Year 6 Football Team for a fantastic display against Newbury Park based opponents William Torbitt Primary School on Friday 2nd March. The team are now unbeaten since the 19th October 2011 and showed no signs of ending this run of form any time soon. Four inch perfect strikes from Tyler helped seal the deal with Owen, Taj, Aidan, Jack and Dylan each amongst the goal scorers to put the boys top of the Redbridge Group D with their final League game of the season coming up against St. Bedes Primary School – Date TBA.

Thursday 8th March 2011 Year 6 – Barley Lane 2 – 8 John Bramston

Well done again to our Year 6 football team for another solid result in this year 6 friendly on Thursday the 8th March. The Barley Lane trip was more to look at our up and coming year 5 team, but thought it would be great if the year 6’s could have a run out aswell. Goals from Tyler, Owen, Aidan, Jack and Taj helped keep the boys unbeaten since 19th October 2011. Thanks to Mr Williams for managing the boys on the day whilst I managed to year 5 team.

Thursday 8th March – Year 5 – Barley Lane 0 – 1 John Bramston

On Thursday 8th March myself and Mr Williams took our year 5 and year 6 team to Barley Lane Primary School in Goodmayes to give our year 5 boys a taste of what playing for their school will be like when it comes to being year 6 children next season.

The boys understandably had pre match nerves before coming onto the pitch but those nerves were only temporary as the boys begun to get the ball down and play just like they do in the play ground. The enjoyment and excitement begun to kick in and the team very deservedly won the game with a fantastic strike from Kieran from outside the area to seal a 1-0 victory.

Performances from all around the pitch were just as important as the goal as saves from 1st and 2nd half goal keepers Kajus and Thomas helped keep a clean sheet. Stachys and Matthew (second half) were equally solid at the heart of our defence with our midfield team of Conor (c), Elliott and Tommy all putting man of the match performances and showed different styles of play to help seal this 1-0 win.

Well done to Fassal also for playing on a injury he suffered the day before and put a good shift in the first half for the team and getting his first real John Bramston match experience.

I am now very optimistic about this up and coming year group as we have a very good balance of footballing ability in this year 5 year group and am looking forward to the challenge we face next year as a year 6 team for John Bramston.
